2008 NBA Draft is coming up

Doesn’t it feel like just yesterday that the NBA finals were over?  The Celtics beat the Lakers in glorious fashion so NBA is over now, right?  NOPE!  The NBA Draft is tomorrow.  30 NBA teams are licking their chops and crunching the numbers over who they will select.  It’s a tough draft for scouts as their are few real standouts.  The Bulls have the number 1 pick despit having just a 1.7% chance in the draft lottery last month.  We expect them to take home towner, Derek Rose of Memphis.  They could sneak in and take Michael Beasley of Kansas St. but time will tell.  Paxson is real hush hush about their decision.

The Miami Heat will be up next and they will take either Rose or Beasley.  Those two will go #1 and #2 - no doubt.  Miami also could be in a trading situation as Shawn Marion has discussed opting out of the final year in his contract.  Grizzlies and/or Sonics would be likely trading partners. Lots of other teams are talking trades, but it’s all talk until something really happens.

We will have a post draft update once it’s complete so check back to SportsShare.com for your draft results and some opinions.
